Easily Eliminate The Clutter In Your Home Without The Stress

Posted on

Are you tired of living in a cluttered home? When you first moved in, you may have felt like you had all this extra space to move around freely and do what you want. However, over the past few years, you may have accumulated so many belongings that you're now dealing with clutter in each room inside the home. If you're ready to live comfortably again, there are quite a few different things you can do.

Spend Five Minutes in Each Room

Do you feel stressed out from the minute you walk in any room? You might feel like it will take you hours to even make a dent in the room when trying to eliminate all the clutter. However, you can get a lot done if you spend at least five minutes a day in each room. Start by grabbing items that belong in the trash and throwing them out. Once you get rid of the trash, you can start going through items you're thinking of keeping. You may be surprised at how much you can get done when you're timing yourself and trying to make a dent in a room that is full of items.

Start a Donation Box

There are plenty of people out there who may be less fortunate and in need of some of the items you're not really using. Grab a large cardboard box and use it as your donation box. There are plenty of things you can donate, including clothes that don't fit, jewelry you haven't worn in ages, toys your children aren't playing with, and kitchen accessories that you're not using. Focus on filling up one donation box at a time. Once you fill up a box, you may feel so good about being able to donate to those in need that it could motivate you to continue going through the rooms of your home to find other items to donate to people.

Store the Stuff You Can't Part With

There are some items you might not want to part with because they were passed down from a family member or because they have some other sort of sentimental value. If you don't have room for certain items, but you don't want to throw them out or donate them, you should rent out a storage unit and put them in there. The great thing about the storage unit is that you can use it for as long as you need to, whether it's a few weeks, months, or even years. After eliminating a lot more of the clutter, you may decide to go back to the storage unit and bring some of those items back into the home.

Getting rid of the clutter in your home doesn't have to be as difficult as you think. If you dedicate a few minutes each day to cleaning out the rooms, start a donation box, and put some of your items in a storage unit, you will quickly have a home that is free of clutter and looking its best.
